Dunbarton Arts
and Gardens Festival will be in full swing for
Spring again this year. The juried festival takes
place May 3&4 and May 10&11 from 9:00 to 5:00
offering fine art, craft and flowering plants for
sale, ending on Mother’s Day, May 11.
Patricia Dooly Murphy, the
proprietor of Dunbarton Arts and Gardens organizes
the yearly event and is host to more than forty
vendors over the course of the four day festival. In
the festival’s three years the quality of fine art,
handcrafts and flowering plants has quickly reached
an impressive level. While many of the exhibitors
reside locally and are members of other juried
organizations, some travel from Maine, Massachusetts
and Vermont. The success of the festival has
attracted many exhibitors to return this year and
the fun and community spirit is also a draw.
This unique festival takes
place on Route13 in the center of historic Dunbarton
NH at the home of Patricia and Richard Murphy and
the location of Dunbarton Arts and Gardens, a
seasonal garden center selling locally grown
flowering plants and garden sculpture created by
Patricia Murphy. Additionally there will be
painters, potters, jewelers, basket weavers, glass
blowers, personal care products, hand forged
hardware, shaker toys and furniture, paper mache,
stained glass, maple products, paper art, handmade
paper, organic vegetable plants, psychic readings,
and even gourmet dog treats! Twist of Fate Farm will
be offering a BBQ of their local, naturally raised
meat and entertainer John Tercyak returns this year
to
sing and play guitar on the first weekend, West
African Drumming on Mother’s Day, and other local
entertainers will be featured throughout the
weekend.
